  • Download/Installation instructions

*Desktop themes are fully compatible with WindowsXP, but retain the "Classic Windows Style." I have now made WindowBlinds skins to make the desktop style even better. WindowBlinds custom skins Windows98-XP operating systems in a similar fashion to the "Windows XP style." You can download the free version of WindowBlinds at www.windowblinds.net.
    1. All files are Zip files. Pre-WindowsME users must have WinZip installed on their computer.
    2. Download the desired desktop theme to anywhere on your hard disk.
    3. Open the .zip file. You may wish to extract all the files into their own directory, such as C:\Program Files\Savage Themes\. Users of Windows98/2000/ME with Microsoft Plus! may choose to install the theme in the Plus! theme folder (typically C:\Program Files\Plus!\Themes\). XP users may choose to install it in their default themes directory (C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\) Installing into these folders generally make them run better.
    4. IMPORTANT! Certain themes come with a specific font packaged in them. This font must be installed on your computer before applying the theme! To do this, simply copy the font file into C:\Windows\Fonts or into "Fonts" under the Control Panel.
    5. The theme can be applied to Windows in several different ways. The easiest is to right-click on the .theme file and click "Apply Settings" or "Open." Plus! users can also go to Control Panel > Desktop Themes to open Plus! and choose the file from the drop-down menu or "Other..." to browse for it. XP users can right-click on their desktop and choose the theme from the theme menu or browse for the theme.
    6. To install the WindowBlinds skin, first download the .wba file. Right click on the desktop, go to the "Appearance" tab, click "Add" and browse for the file.
    7. If desired, download the accompanying screensaver and open the .exe file. Install to your computer's screensaver directory (In most cases, this will be C:\Windows\System\) or to the folder you installed the theme.
    8. Better yet, you get customer service on these goodies! Email me at fireinsidetheman@hotmail.com if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions!

PSST... All files and themes are property of SGLL. Feel free to link to this page, but do not take them and credit them to yourself! Thanks!
